Transfans in the know will be aware of the debate regarding the pros and cons of how Don Fig (TransFormers super artist) has decided to start drawing the characters. Gen 1, with a movie bent. And faces which are ugly and unemotive and most unforgivably, unrelatable.
Now, recently my brother has been putting on Thundercats DVDs over dinner, and Andy Turnbull of Wierd Without End did a strip which explained the new faces as being an Evil plot by Skeletor of Masters Of The Universe. [link]
All of these things mixed up in my grey swishy brain-box and this was the result. Prowl, drawn exactly as Don Fig now draws him, dressed as Mumm-Ra. The only alteration I made to Prowl was having his crest form the snakes, and the red eyes. Oh, and Mumm-Ra's chest emblem.

As it happens, it (kinda) fit the brief for the IDW Forums current monthly art competition, to 'demonise or otherwise beastify' a Transformer. I didn't actually do this for that, so I have no interest in winning. :)

is it.... bad, that i actually really like Don fig's style? ^^; i didn't know anyone hated it so vehemently :C
I'd love to see G1 Prowl's face if he saw this though lol :XD:

Nah, it's not bad at all. I Don't hate it, I just dont want it to become the standard.
I don't think Prowl's expression would cange if he saw this. He'd probably think that this was a waste of his time and just walk away.

hahaha. maybe so, but then i base my Prowls mostly on series 1&2 G1, and he's always seemed a lot more lively and expressive on there than most people write him. The comics paint him more austere, but i like the idea of a Prowl who's usually expressionless until you surprise him with something random and he pulls a face :XD:
